A BLIGHTED LIFE
A multicultural cocktail of dance, raw physicality and fleeting commentary exploring contrasts in extreme attitudes towards homosexuality from around the globe. Where queer clashes with culture.
Set to an eclectic soundtrack of Ethiopian Jazz, African beat, world folk and camp classics. A BLIGHTED LIFE is both oppressive and liberating, light and dark, a mixing pot of cultures and queerness.
‘A BLIGHTED LIFE’ featured North East artists Alicia Meehan and Patrick Ziza
A commission piece for Curious LGBTQIA+ Festival toured to Leeds Yorkshire Dance, Liverpool Homotopia Festival, Arc at Stockton, Swallowsfeet Festival Brighton and Baltic Contemporary art gallery Gateshead.
